Homeschool Support Groups
The Basic Education Laws Amendment (BELA) Act was rejected by the majority of home educators during the public hearings of parliament in 2022 and 2023. The BELA Act is fundamentally flawed, because it is inconsistent with the constitution. The new BELA Act treats homeschooling families like institutionalized schools, demanding registration and assessments that don’t fit home education. The act applies requirements designed for institutions to families.
